Dot. – Randi Zuckerberg & Joe Berger

Another picture book to review but this time young Sophie will not be getting her hands on the spoils.  My Mum’s name is Dot so this one will be going to her…..

This is a lovely story about a little girl who, like so many children these days, seems to be spending all her time with computers, tablets and smartphones.  Luckily her Mum knows what is good for her and sends her out to reconnect with the real world.  The story is very modern but the illustrations are charmingly old fashioned (they rather reminded me of the Madeline books) and Dot herself is very endearing.  A good story to read with children who think that surfing, tagging and tweeting only happen on social media…
