I have been hosting a monthly bookgroup at Waterstones in Bradford for 5 or 6 years now – we have covered so many books I can barely remember them all. I know we started with Angela Carter’s Bloody Chamber and last month we read The Big Sleep its just the bits inbetween I’m getting hazy on. Hopefully if I blog for each book we cover I’ll be able to keep track from now on in.
The group currently meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month in Cafe W at 5pm. Which means we are meeting tomorrow – we will be discussing Flight Behaviour by Barbara Kingsolver. Everyone is welcome to join us – and don’t worry that it will be like a school English lesson, we are a lot more relaxed and friendly than that. Also not finishing the book is not a big issue – although you may have to put your fingers in your ears and say ‘la la la’ if we start talking about plot details. I am hoping that some of the group will contribute reviews to this blog – a couple of lines or a long rant, it doesn’t matter.
We hope to be choosing our books for the next couple of months tomorrow – I will let you all know what we select so you can join us if you wish. If you can’t make it to Bradford you could always read along with us and let us know what you think on this blog….And if you aren’t keen on our choices you could always give us some suggestions.
